Monday Night - Prison Break

Just wanted to let everyone know that there's a possibility that the episode of Prison Break that I was selected for might air this Monday night. We were originally told that it would air on February 5th. However, during the previews shown last week, they showed a few shots that I should be in and said that it was coming on soon. (Not sure if that last statement makes any sense).

For anyone who misses the show, you can watch it online. Just go to www.fox.com. And you can watch the show on Fox on Demand.

I'll post again soon to let you all know the outcome!

Later!

Family Update

With the holidays over, it seems like life has drastically slowed down!! And not having a job makes it seem like life barely moves AT ALL!!! I'm once again not working and searching everyday for the next big opportunity. In case there's anyone who wasn't already aware, the girls and I are once again moving into my parent's house at the end of this month. Therefore, my house is up for sale. So, logic would tell you that I'm about to start packing again!! Which I hate ~ but seem to be getting better at. You know what they say about practice.

We do have some good news to share. My sister, Jessica, is pregnant again!! This will be their second child and we're all SO excited!! If I remember correctly she's due at the end of August 2007. I'll keep you all posted!!I guess that's about it for now ~ ~ See, I told you, not much going on!

Love to all,
Melony, Ryann & Kamri

Sleeping beauties......

My beautiful sleeping girls.....note the covered up elephant....Ryann's always so thoughtful!!

This is Kamri's new "big girl bed".....she looks so tiny sleeping in it.

Believe it or not, it was completely dark in the house when I took these pictures.....even though it looks like it was daytime. : )

Being an actress is SO cool!!!

Yesterday I got another opportunity to be an extra for the show Prison Break....and it was SO much fun!!! This time around I worked with the 2nd unit.....which essentially means that I got to see a lot of really cool stunts!! There was a helicopter there all day doing arial shots, stunt guys doing...well, stunts.....and I even got to see a train crash into 2 state trooper cars!!!! I didn't get to participate in as many shots...because there weren't as many to be in. And pretty much everything filmed yesterday was "extra" stuff. But, none the less, it was a lot of fun...and I got to meet some really cool people. And I've decided that my favorite part of being an extra (aka background artist) is getting to meet so many great people!!! Definitely not a bad way to spend the day!

Okay, back to the real world. I started the new job today.....and there are a lot of really nice people there as well. There really isn't much that I can say about this new job except that it should keep me busy. Hopefully.

Here are a couple of pics from the filming on Monday....you can see the helicopter, the train, the police cars, the camera crew.....unfortunately I don't think you can actually see anyone famous.....so, you'll just have to watch the show!! : )

In the midst of all of the horribleness!!

This morning, after taking the girls to school ~ I was lying in bed trying to fight off a headache and my cell phone rang. It was the casting producer from Prison Break. And she was calling to see if I would be available for filming on Monday. Of course, I said "YES!"......apparently they selected 5 of the original extras to come and shoot a new scene in a completely different episode. So, I'm really excited about that. AND, I start work at the new temp job on Tuesday!! Other than that, not a whole lot going on today.

Hope everyone is doing well! Have a safe and fun weekend!!

My record is still intact.

Per the previous post, I had an interview this afternoon at 1:00.....and by 3:30 I received a call. I got the job!!! It kinda surprised me to find out so quickly since the manager that I interviewed with said that they had a couple more people to talk with. But, apparently as soon as I left he told his HR person to start processing the paperwork because he wanted me!! So, my record is still intact. To this day, I've never interviewed for a position and not gotten offered the job. I must have REALLY good interviewing skills....because lord knows my resume isn't THAT great! I'll find out tomorrow when I start work. And, as I stated before, this isn't the job that I want to end up in ultimately......but it'll be a paycheck until I can get the job that I really want. So, there's the news!! Yay me!!!

The first interview......yuck!

I hate interviewing! I always feel like I'm trying to "sell" myself. And I'm afraid I'll never have the right answers to their questions! On the other hand, I've never been to an interview and not been offered the job. So apparently, I'm not too bad at it. Either that, or everyone recognizes genius when they see it!!! ;)

We'll see what comes of this interview. It went pretty well. The manager I talked with seemed to like me and some of the experience that I obtained at the previous job would be a big help at this one. But ~ I'm still looking for something more "dream job" like. So, keep your eyes and ears open for me......

The search begins......

So, I went back to work today ~ only to discover that I no longer have a job. The specifics aren't really important.....it's just important to note that I am now unemployed. Yes, I'm okay.....I'm not HAPPY about this sudden development....but I'm okay. Or rather, I will be. But, I must say, this is not exactly how I would have chosen to start the new year!!!!

But, this post is being submitted as a request to all of my friends and family. I know that many of you are gainfully employed and you probably even know others who are as well. So, I need a job. Send out the word!!! I'm looking for something in the Dallas area. Definitely something administrative and good benefits wouldn't hurt either!!

Guess that's about it for now.....I'd better get back to job hunting. I no longer have time for frivolous things such as blogging. : )
