Hitting Home

My mom called me last night to let me know that Jeff, a guy a couple of years younger than me that I grew up with and went to church with was killed yesterday by a bomb while serving time in Iraq. I have to tell you - until that moment, it hadn't really occured to me that this country is at war. But, suddenly it was all very real. A good guy, a guy that I used to hang out with, was the victim of that war. He leaves behind a 2 year old daughter who will never get to know her Daddy. It's incredibly sad. So, if you know anyone who is overseas, please remember them in your prayers daily. Because you never know - and if you're anything like me - you never think you'll see the name of someone that you know listed as a casualty of war.

Happy 1st Birthday Emma!!

Emma Katherine Davis turned one on September 1, 2006. I can't believe it's already been a whole year!!
We celebrated Emma's birthday on Saturday at The Part Playhouse here in town. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, cake & punch....there was a bounce house & lots of things for the kids to play with.....and they had a BLAST!!!! For more pics from the party check out Flickr.com.

On Thursday of this past week, the girls started a new "class" offered at our gym here at work. And they LOVED it. It's called Kids In Motion....I took a couple of pictures before the other kids arrived. One of the best parts is that I get to work out while they play!! They'll get to do this on Monday and Thursday nights and already they've been asking when they get to go again!!

Hope everyone's weekend was as much fun as ours! Pretty soon it's back to the grindstone!

Hello again!! Hope everyone had a relaxing Labor Day weekend! I know we sure enjoyed ours!! I figured it was time for another update so this is what we've been up to lately. Two nights ago the girls and I made homemade pizzas....they helped!! Here are a couple of pics.....


Oh yeah, and Kamri's newest "thing"......if you ask her what something is and she doesn't know the right answer......it's a "dinglehopper"....of course when she says it it comes out "deendle-opper".....it's too cute!!!

Happy Labor Day!!

It's finally here! We haven't had a long weekend in what seems like forever!!! I'm SO looking forward to it....

Ryann will be at her Dad's house so it'll just be me and Kamri hanging out at home (and prolly with the kinfolk) this weekend. No big plans....cookout with the family, do some house cleaning and grocery shopping. A friend of mine from high school is going to be in town this weekend, so I think we're going to try to meet up for lunch one day! Hi, T-Todd!!!

Other than that, I plan on sleeping in (as late as Kamri will allow) and spending some time with my baby girl! Yay!!!

Our not so exciting weekend......

This past weekend the girls and I stayed home....they played, I cleaned, and we had some fun.....as you can see from the pictures, they had A LOT of fun!!! Trust me - these pics do not do justice to the mess that was my house!!

How do two little girls make a mess this BIG in just a matter of minutes!!!!!!!!! Do YOU think my kids have too many toys?!?!?!?! LOL......

Kamri has decided that she'd rather sleep on the floor than in her bed. No matter how many times I put her in that bed - - I always find her on the floor....and it's not even in the same spot every night.....what a weird kid!







These are the two puppies that we went to look at last night. We just loved both of them!!! And, of course, if I could I would take them both home! But I can't and we had to choose one....so, we took a family poll and the one we chose is......

Charlie Sue!!!! She'll be coming to live with us on Friday and we can't wait!!!

School is exhausting!!!

I'm not sure if I can handle 14+ more years of this!! Ryann came home last night pretty much worn out. But she managed to make it through the rest of the evening. We had everyone over for the weekly Family Night Dinner. Hopefully, today was a little less eventful and we can all have a relaxing evening at home. We're expecting some MUCH NEEDED rain this evening. And Dustin, the girls & myself are supposed to go look at a 7 week old lhasa apso puppy that could possibly soon be coming to join our family. Ryann's First Day of School!!!!!

Ryann started school this morning!!! It was an emotional time for us all - well, us parents....Ryann was more excited than anything else! Adam, Courtney, & Aiden made the trip to Greenville as a special surprise for her and went with us to drop her off at school. The adults managed to hold it together pretty well. Ryann really made it a lot easier on us - - because she didn't mind staying at her school even one little bit! When we left she was busy playing with the other students in her class and having a good time. And I was doing really well keeping the tears in check until I looked over at her Daddy and he was starting to tear up!! That's when I couldn't really hold them back any longer. But overall, the morning went very well and I know that Ryann is going to have a GREAT first day of school! I can't wait to pick her up at 3:00 this afternoon and find out how it went!

I personally wanted to say thank you to Adam and Courtney for making the trip here and sharing this special day with us.....it really made it even more special!! We love you guys!!!

It's almost here!!!!!

As many of you may have noticed - wait a minute.....how many can there possibly be that read my blog?!?!?!

But, I digress.....as I was saying. As you may have noticed, I'm not very good at keeping up with this blog thing! But I'm declaring on this eighteenth day of August 2006 that I'm going to do a better job of keeping the multitude posted!!!!

Ryann starts Pre-K on Monday! I still can't believe that it's already time! We went to "Meet the Teacher Night" last night and met Ryann's teachers as well as many of the other students that she'll be in class with. Her teachers names are Ms. Bell and Ms. Connie. Ms. Bell is the official "teacher" and Ms. Connie is the helper. There is also an intern/student teacher named Ms. Ebbinger.....so, I'm sure that you'll be hearing many wonderful things about how these three women are going to tell me how brilliant and beautiful my child is!!! Because I'm going to do better at the posting thing (read declaration above).

Ryann turned 4 on July 13th!!! We had a great time! I still can't believe she's growing so fast. I never believed people when they told me how fast kids grow up.....but it's true.

Kamri is learning new words and phrases each and every day. I think I heard the alphabet song about 17 zillion times last night and I'll be damned if that girl didn't wake up singing it again this morning!!!! But, I encourage....not discourage.....even though I'm about ready to put my head through a wall!!! She's turning out to be as brilliant and beautiful as before mentioned sister. And just the other day I heard her in her room as she was playing belt out "OH...MY.....GOSH......" (said in the voice of Janice from Friends).....and her newest phrase that she likes to use "Mommy, you know what?" It's mind-boggling!

This weekend Ryann will be with her Dad and Courtney and the ever-growing and learning Aiden.....they get to go shopping for shoes. Is it wrong that I'm jealous???? Oh, about the shoes.....not the rest. : )

We're just about all settled in to our new house (which I still don't have pictures of).....and we're LOVING it! We take almost nightly walks around the neighborhood with the girls and our beloved golden retriever Daisy. This is pretty much the best part of my day.

So, as you can see - life is good! We're still searching for a church that feels like "home".....but I'm determined to find one.....or perhaps it will find us.....food for thought.

The search is over!!!

We FINALLY found our new home!! And we're SO excited!! The girls will each be in their own rooms. And we move in on the 22nd of this month!! I'll post pictures of our new home soon!

Last Sunday Ryann was playing in her very messy room and she tripped and fell onto the back of her magna doodle! We ended up in the ER because her eye was bleeding (OMG!!) and she started to swell and bruise immediately!! She's fine - has one heck of a black eye (was going to share pics - but can't due to reason listed above)! Scared me to death!! Other than that, not a whole lot going on right now. As soon as blogger has this issue resolved I'll post some pics for you!! Until then if you want, you can check out our photo album....I'll post some there! Happy Easter!!!!

Wow!! Has it been two months since I've updated this thing?!?! Time flies!! I guess it happens when you're not looking - or maybe while you're sleeping. The girls are doing very well! Kamri's almost as tall as Ryann now. And they're both SO smart! It amazes me to hear the things that they say sometimes!! Ryann is now aware that there are differences in girl and boy body parts - but according to her Daddy she's known this for a while! When did my little girl get so big!
Both girls are going to be spending Easter with their dad's. I'll miss them terribly - but I guess I'll just have to tough it out!
Not much else going on right now. We're having an easter egg hunt this evening since the girls will not be here on Easter Sunday. I'll post some pics soon! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend!!

Maggie's Corner

Apparently, Kamri decided that Maggie had disobeyed the rules and needed a time-out!! Juston, Kamri and I were sitting around on Sunday watching the super bowl and Kamri decided to put Maggie in the corner.....it was so cute that I just had to grab the camera!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

We had our family Valentine's Day dinner last night at Gamaw's house. It's been a tradition in our family for the past 15+ years!! The girls had a blast. Their favorite V-Day gift was the dollhouse that Aunt Brittany gave to them!! They had so much fun playing!! Thanks, Brit!!

Okay - sorry it's been so long!! We've been SO busy lately! We're currently looking for a house and that is about to drive me CRAZY!!!

Baby Girl Emma!!

Emma Kathryn Davis was born on September 1st!! Jessica and Thomas Davis are so happy that their baby girl is finally here!! If you ask me, she looks like Thomas - although, it's hard to tell right now!!

Ryann and Kamri just absolutely adore their new cousin!! Can't wait to see what kinds of trouble these three will get into!!

In case there are those of you out there who haven't seen my girls lately, you're missing out on a lot!! Kamri has decided that she is the boss of everyone!! Including my parent's new puppy!! Kamri tried to tell Tilly that she did not belong on the couch..."No, No, No!"

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything new. Life has been a little hectic lately. The girls and I are now living in our own place and loving it!!
